inVADER alert

India has seen its share of invaders: from the Persians, Greeks, Mongols, Arabs, Portugese, French and British raiders. This may be the reason why we are so immune to be invaded and subjugated. iiitb, the place where I am doing my M.Tech is currently reeling under an invasion. With nearly a 100 people on training from Accenture and nearly half that size seizing the guest rooms, life has turned upside down for a normal iiitbian.

Let me first describe iiitb. I am not sure if it is still Indian Institute of Information Technology, or, has it become International Institute of Information Technology (due to some archaic government rule). So I shall simply refer it as iiitb. iiitb has a nice, quiet population of around 200 people who love late nights, loud music, and a touch of insomnia. With the latest additions, essential supplies like coffee, tea and even ice cream has become scarce. The most unimaginable thing that can happen on campus is the lack of LAN access points. This is because the visitors (we are getting used to them, so they may not be invaders for long) are occupying 2 labs completely. The invasion has started. What lies on the road ahead?

I actually don't mind the invaders/visitors as much if they are from the you-know-which half of the population. But all the crowd here at iiit-b sometimes makes me wonder if the ying-yang balance of the world has been greatly disturbed.

The balance is screwed even in the long term. Think of your junior batch. I can only weep.
And btw Arvind, I don't know what is ahead but I do know what is across. ;)

We, at iiit-b, have become used to not having too many people around us and 24 / 7 net access. Spoilt, reclusive brats, we are, really. ;)

@mandy
We "junies" are the initial targets. But I hope that the same plague doesn't threaten your domain. That would be a sad sight

You should check out the amount of cash the invaders are paying college. Humongous!
